Foundation for Women’s Cancer,
formerly the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation
Beginning in 1995, the Foundation for Women’s Cancer has funded 89 research awards given to promising young investigators. As reported in the Foundation for Women’s Cancer 20th Anniversary Research Portfolio, www.thegcf.org/downloads/research_portfolio.pdf these awards have resulted in over 325 peer-reviewed publication, and attracted $58 M in extramural funding as a result of the initial research grant totaling $2.5M, a 23-fold return. New grant awards are announced in early June each year when the Foundation for Women’s Cancer Research Grants & Awards brochure is published online.

The Lynne Cohen Foundation for Ovarian Cancer Research
The mission of the Lynne Cohen Foundation for Ovarian Cancer Research is to support and enable collaborative, multi-institutional research combating ovarian cancer through prevention and early detection. Ovarian Cancer Canada
Ovarian Cancer Canada is a registered Canadian charitable organization whose mission is to overcome ovarian cancer, providing leadership by supporting women living with the disease and their families, raising awareness in the general public and with health care professionals and by funding research to develop early detection techniques, improved treatment and, ultimately, a cure.
The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation
The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation offers a unique clinic staffed by gynecologic oncologists, clinical geneticists, clinical psychologists and genetic counselors to provide risk assessment, counseling, genetic testing, ovarian cancer screening and risk reduction strategies for women and families considered to be at risk of an inherited genetic predisposition to ovarian (and also breast) cancer.

Ovarian Cancer Australia
Ovarian Cancer Australia is a national not-for-profit organization providing support and advocacy for people affected by ovarian cancer and is the peak body for ovarian cancer awareness and prevention. Their programs are focused in these important areas:
- Promoting awareness of ovarian cancer and its symptoms in the community – giving Australian women and their healthcare providers a better understanding of the early signs of ovarian cancer
- Providing support networks and resources to women and their families and friends affected by ovarian cancer
- Advocating with medical professionals, government and the media for women diagnosed with ovarian cancer
- Each year in February they run a national Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month of events, media campaigns and community activities to highlight the symptoms of ovarian cancer and to promote their programs.
Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation
The OCRF has developed to become one of Australia’s pre-eminent body supporting ovarian cancer research programs that occur nationally, and are focused upon the understanding of the causes of ovarian cancer, its early detection and improve patient survival. Their goals and objectives are to develop and implement an early detection program, to improve the mortality rate, management and long-term survival of women with ovarian cancer, and to gain fundamental understanding of the causes of ovarian cancer.
National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre – Ovarian Cancer Program (AU)
The National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre (NBOCC) is Australia’s national authority and source of evidence-based information on breast and ovarian cancer. Funded by the Australian Government, NBOCC works in partnership with health professionals, cancer organizations, researchers, governments and those diagnosed to improve outcomes in breast and ovarian cancer. The NBOCC plays a vital role in the translation of worldwide cancer research into meaningful and evidence-based information to guide the work of Australian health professionals, improve health service delivery, inform people with breast or ovarian cancer about all aspects of their diagnosis and treatment, inform and provide advice on policy development, and to raise community awareness about these diseases.

Female Cancer Program Foundation, Leiden University
This multi-disciplinary team of specialists joined forces in the study, treatment and prevention of cervical cancer. On the basis of this collaboration a center of excellence was established on all aspects of cervical cancer, from fundamental research on etiology to new surgical methods and from new insights on tumor biology to immunotherapy and immunoprevention.
